Colnago has just launched the latest C68 line, the C68 Gravel bike. The frame is entirely handmade in Italy and reflects Colnago’s vast experience and competence in building bicycle frames, now adapted to the gravel market.
Features of the Colnago C68 Gravel
Contrary to what some might think, the C68 Gravel is not just the C68 road version with wider tire width. The bike has a completely new geometry, designed specifically for the type of use in which it is used.
Colnago also has the G3-X in its range, a gravel competition bike. However, the geometry of the Gravel C68 has been revised compared to the G3-X, with the main aim of improving stability and providing a smooth riding experience on all surfaces.
Adaptability and specifications of the Gravel C68
In keeping with current Gravel bike trends, the frame has been designed to allow riders to find their ideal position at shorter angles. This improves control on loose surfaces and makes the bike feel more responsive.
The C68 Gravel also has a larger wheel base, another design aspect aimed specifically at increasing control when the pavement runs out. With a 1X drivetrain-oriented design, the C68 Gravel can accommodate a variety of suspension forks to further enhance its off-road abilities.
The maximum certified tire width is 42mm, which although a non-limiting measurement, is a little narrower than the 50mm that many brands are currently working with.
Additionally, Colnago will offer blockchain registration for the C68 Gravel, which uses an NFC tag inserted into the frame and functions as a type of digital passport for the bike. This allows owners to digitally store a certificate of ownership as well as participate in selected and exclusive official events from the second half of 2024 onwards.
Colnago C68 Gravel prices and configurations
The Gravel C68 will be available in five sizes, from 45 cm to 57 cm, and in two color options: green and black. The suggested price for the disassembled frame is €5,935.
