The AlUla Tour (formerly the Saudi Tour), will be the starting point for many cyclists in the 2024 season. The Arab race, which will take place from January 30th to February 3rd, is made up of a total of five stages with a predominance of flat sections. With this, sprinters will have great opportunities to stand out at the end of each stage.
Climbers will have their chance in the last stage
In addition to the sprinters, cyclists with an explosive profile and climbers aim to compete for the general classification in the demanding climb of the fifth and final stage. The favorite to win this fourth edition of the AlUla Tour is the British Simon Yates, who will participate in the Arab competition for the first time.
Although a tougher course favors Yates more, the Brit will have strong rivals in the fight for the general classification such as Max Schachmann, Davide Formolo and Rafal Majka.
Flat stage battles
Great sprinters will be present at the UCI 1 competition, anticipating a real battle for the sprints, among them the confirmed presence of Dylan Groenewegen, Tim Merlier, Juan Sebastián Molano, Bryan Coquard and John Degenkolb are among the 18 teams present, half of which are from the World Tour .
