Few bikes have had as much success in the World Tour peloton as the Colnago V4Rs in recent times. The bike is ridden by some of the sport’s biggest stars, such as Tadej Pogacar, João Almeida and Juan Ayuso.
Premiere in 2024
The bike made its debut this season, during the Tour Down Under, where Isaac Del Toro took victory in stage 2, on the second day of WorldTour racing. The young Mexican was ably supported in the following stages by a strong team, which included Álvaro Hodeg, owner of V4Rs, provided by the British website GCN and analyzed below.
Wheels with new hubs
While most of the bike is unchanged from the 2023 model, there is a subtle new difference in the ENVE wheels. Just a week before the start of the season, the American brand revealed its new Innerdrive hubs that are present on all of its premium wheels, including the SES 4.5 version, used by the team in Australia.
Traditional Dura-Ace group
The team is sponsored by Shimano and uses the traditional Dura-Ace group. There were no surprises in terms of configuration, with the Colombian combining a 54/40t crank with an 11-34t cassette, this being the standard option for the majority of cyclists in the professional peloton.
Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT Tires
The ENVE SES 4.5 wheels were combined with Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT tires measuring 28 mm wide.
ENVE SES handlebar
At the front, the ENVE SES handlebar was used accompanied by a K-Edge computer mount.
