With the help of Olympique de Marseille, one of the main French competitions at the beginning of the year will return in 2024

After its cancellation in 2023, the Tour de la Provence is scheduled to return from February 8 to 11, 2024. While the revival of the race was announced earlier in the season, with its presence on the calendar since 2016, it was revealed that the new spokesperson for the competition is Thomas Voeckler.

Voeckler is a former professional cyclist and a notable winner of the first edition of the event. Currently, he serves as a consultant for France Télévisions and the coach of the French national team, representing the Tour de la Provence organization.

Through a press release, the Groupe La Provence organization clarified the reasons for the return of the Tour de la Provence and the changes made to this event, which has quickly become significant in the French calendar. “The Group is pleased to see the Tour de La Provence regain its place in the UCI calendar from February 8 to 11, 2024, on the traditional dates of the race, and expresses its gratitude to the cycling authorities for their support and trust. “This four-day competition will offer a variety of stages to cater to all types of riders, whether they are all-rounders, climbers, or sprinters. In early July, the Groupe La Provence launched a selection process that brought together renowned event agencies. With enthusiasm, the choice fell on Mars360, a subsidiary of Olympique de Marseille’s events, to take on the sports and commercial management of the 2024 Tour de La Provence.”
