TotalEnergies announced that it will use ENVE bicycles in 2024, after having partnered with Specialized for the past two seasons.
ENVE, a Utah-based brand best known for its carbon fiber wheels, will provide bicycles, wheels, and cockpits to the French ProTeam for at least two seasons.
The American brand is already present in the professional peloton, supplying wheels and cockpits to Team Emirates and Team Polti Kometa. Partnering with TotalEnergies marks a significant advancement for the brand, which only began producing complete bicycles this year.
For TotalEnergies, ENVE will replace Specialized as the team’s bike partner after Specialized’s partnership ended with Peter Sagan’s retirement from road racing at the end of 2023.
Negotiations began in October
“We already knew their wheels, and that made us very curious,” said Jean-René Bernaudeau, manager of the TotalEnergies team, in a press statement. “In October, we were in discussions with their engineers at the team headquarters, and our technicians and riders were impressed with ENVE’s responsiveness.”
“I am very pleased to associate our team with this innovative brand. We have a lot to learn from its structure, and we share the same motivation to achieve great results through significant R&D work. This collaboration between our two companies will contribute to future victories.”
ENVE Melee
The team will race on the ENVE Melee road bike, which was launched to consumers this summer.
Although it is the brand’s first and only road bike offering, the company is one of the world’s most well-known wheel manufacturers. Thus, in conjunction with the frames and cockpit setups, TotalEnergies will have the entire range of ENVE SES wheels at its disposal.
“Having the opportunity to partner with TotalEnergies, a team with so much history in the sport, is an honor for us,” said Mike Stimola, General Manager of ENVE. “We have earned a reputation as leaders in wheel and component technology, and now adding ENVE bikes to the professional peloton with TotalEnergies is a significant step as a performance brand.”
“We are always proud to see our products used at the highest level of the sport, in the biggest races, and this collaboration will allow us to showcase the ENVE bike brand to a broad audience.”
