The trend of drivers securing their first professional contract at an increasingly younger age continues to gain prominence. An example of this is Andrew August, who made the transition from juniors directly to the pros this winter.
Andrew August the youngest cyclist on the World Tour
Andrew ‘AJ’ August is the INEOS Grenadiers cyclist and the youngest in the World Tour peloton. In the last update he was only 18 years and 109 days old.
The second youngest is Markel Beloki. The talented Spaniard, son of Spanish star Joseba Beloki, debuted last week at Challenge Mallorca for EF Education – EasyPost, is just 18 years and 186 days old.
António Morgado closes the list of the 10 youngest cyclists
The Portuguese António Morgado, who caught the attention of the director of UAE Team Emirates, Matxin Joxean Fernández, after a training session, in which he was the only cyclist on the team to accompany the phenomenon Tadej Pogacar, closes the list of the 10 youngest cyclists, according to Procyclingstats.
Morgado’s birthday was yesterday, January 28th, so the Portuguese who made his debut on the World Tour during the Tour Down Under, in Australia, is 20 years and 1 day old today.
