Mathias Flückiger, leader of the UCI ranking, reveals when he won in the World Cup and expresses disappointment with the prize money in MTB

Mathias Flückiger is far from satisfied with the prize money in Mountain Biking, to say the least. The Swiss MTB cyclist expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, highlighting the need for an increase in prize money. “If any sponsor sees this…”

On his Instagram account, 35-year-old Mathias Flückiger, the current leader of the UCI ranking and a three-time vice-world champion, as well as a one-time Olympic silver medalist, shows the form he had to fill out to claim his prize money in the last stage of the World Cup in Snowshoe.

In his post, he starts with the phrase: “If a sponsor notices this…”. He goes on to say: “They will probably question why they need to spend so much money when the prize for fourth place in the World Cup is only $599. That’s just embarrassing,” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
