There were rumors circulating on social media that Nairo Quintana was signing a contract with Lidl-Trek. According to these rumors, the Colombian would serve as a luxury domestique in a possible signing of Remco Evenepoel by the American team. Quintana has been without a team for almost a year after leaving Arkéa-Samsic at the end of 2022. However, Lidl-Trek denies the possible arrival of Quintana, as apparently stated definitively to Daniel Benson of the British GCN channel. “No chance,” says the American team.
Quintana has been without a team for a year and still managed to finish third in the Colombian road championship in February. Officially, Quintana has not announced his retirement, so hope for a continuation of his career is still alive.
