Although the 2024 season seems to be a long one, the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport is already presenting a likely competition schedule for Filippo Ganna. According to the Italian sports newspaper, the cyclist from INEOS Grenadiers will start his season in Australia at the Tour Down Under.
No race in Argentina
This will be his first time there, as Ganna has never competed in the Australian race. The 27-year-old time trial specialist used to start his season in Argentina in recent years, but the Vuelta a San Juan will be a local event only in 2024.
In 2024, Ganna will take a different approach, with his first participation in the Tour Down Under, combined with a series of track competitions on Australian soil. After that, the Italian will focus on local races such as Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-San Remo. Ganna is also expected to be at the start of Paris-Roubaix.
Giro d’Italia and the Olympics are the main targets.
Ganna will then prepare for the Giro d’Italia, a race he has already completed three times. As the cyclist has previously revealed, the Tour de France is not in his plans, but the Olympics are. Ganna will compete on the track in Paris, and he will also be participating in the Individual Time Trial. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he won’t be competing in the road race at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
