Intermarché-Circus-Wanty anticipates and promotes a cyclist who would have been presented only in 2025

Alexy Faure-Prost will make the transition to the main Intermarché-Circus-Wanty team earlier than planned. While the initial intention was for the 19-year-old Frenchman to join the main roster in 2025, it has been decided that he will be part of the main team starting next year. Faure-Prost has signed a contract that will run until the end of 2026.

He comes from the development team

In 2023, Faure-Prost raced for the Circus-ReUz-Technord, the development team of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty. The young French talent has already shown strong performances in his debut season, including a second-place finish in the Giro Ciclistico della Valle d’Aosta-Mont Blanc and a fifth-place finish in the Giro Next Gen. He also became the French U-23 champion.

Sports director Kévin Van Melsen is convinced of Faure-Prost’s ability. He said, “We signed Alexy because we were convinced he has a lot of potential for long climbs. We pushed him into high mountains, and he has proved his worth immensely.”

He also mentioned the strategy for Faure-Prost’s development, stating, “That’s why it’s important to form a well-thought-out strategy for his development. By combining a program with Circus-ReUz-Technord in 2024, we hope to accelerate his learning process.”

Van Melsen expressed confidence in Faure-Prost’s potential, stating, “In the WorldTour, he will be surrounded by experienced professionals and gain a lot of experience. With the training team, we will select some targets where he can prepare for his leadership role and aim for victory. I am convinced that he can become one of the great climbing talents in our WorldTeam in the future.”
