INEOS Grenadiers engineer wins European Track Championship

Dan Bigham won the title of European Champion in the individual pursuit, beating his compatriot Charlie Tanfield, in the final held at the Omnisport Apeldoorn track in the Netherlands. The most interesting thing is that he is not a full-time cyclist. Bigham is the performance engineer for INEOS Grenadiers.

Bigham had already won the Team Pursuit

A day after winning the European title, in the Team Pursuit with the British team, Bigham was now alone in the Individual Pursuit. However, the group holds few surprises for the Briton, who already won silver in the chase during the last World Cup, in Glasgow, where he was surpassed only by his pupil, Filippo Ganna.

In Apeldoorn, Bigham qualified, completing the four km in a time of 4:05.490. He then had to compete in the final against compatriot Charlie Tanfield. In the final, Tanfield saw Bigham reach gold, with a final time of 4:05.783. The bronze medal went to Denmark’s Rasmus Pedersen.
