Another cyclist whose racing plans for the start of the season have been revealed is Decathlon AG2R La Monidale’s latest signing, Irishman Sam Bennett. The sprinter is known for his power on flat stages, although in recent years, the cyclist has been more cited due to his turbulent relations with his former team, Bora-Hansgrohe.
These issues led him to change uniforms, and his new team revealed its calendar for the start of 2024.
First challenges
The first challenge in his quest for stage wins will be the return of the 2.Pro Tour de la Provence. Next on the menu would be the UAE Tour, a race that traditionally features multiple sprint opportunities and where Bennett has already won three stages (2019 and 2021).
Even greater challenges await him at Paris-Nice, where the 33-year-old Irishman will be able to increase his achievements, as in the French competition, he has no less than five victories (2019, 2020 and 2022).
