The 5th stage promised a sprint finish, and that’s what happened. A solitary breakaway occurred from the beginning. Uruguayan Antonio Eric Fagundes (Burgos BH) was part of this breakaway. However, the breakaway was neutralized, and the peloton headed towards the finish line together.
And finally, the peloton headed towards a compact mass sprint. Kaden Groves (Alpecin Deceuninck) repeated the feat and won once again!!! Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers) surprised and took 2nd place. Dries Van Gestel (TotalEnergies) secured the 3rd position on the podium.
With the results of this 5th stage, Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quickstep) maintains the overall lead.
