Juan Ayuso had to change his competition program due to the unexpected cancellation of several stages of the Vuelta a Andalucía. The race was interrupted by the farmers’ strike, as this made it impossible for staff to be available to ensure the safety of the event. As a result, only five kilometers of Time Trials on Friday were contested.
Faun-Ardèche Classic and Faun Drome Classic: Ayuso’s next challenges
With the changed schedule, Ayuso, who came second in the Vuelta a Andalucía time trial, is not wasting any time. The information revealed by the Spanish newspaper AS indicates that the runner from Jávea will leave for France to participate in two competitions: the Faun-Ardèche Classic on Saturday and the Faun Drome Classic on Sunday. These are races with difficult terrain, where the last winners were Julian Alaphilippe and Anthony Perez, respectively.
Presentation of Ayuso Team UAE
Before his departure to France, Juan Ayuso will be present at the presentation of a personal project: the official launch of the Ayuso Team UAE, which will take place this Tuesday in Andorra, as had already been announced by Ayuso himself, at the beginning of 2024.
Ayuso Team UAE is a young team, almost entirely dedicated to training and made with the support of UAE Team Emirates. Ayuso, who finished third in the 2022 Vuelta a España and fourth in the 2023 Vuelta, is clearly excited about this new project. At just 21 years old, the young cyclist has high expectations for both his individual career and this new venture.
