In development work, Specialized expanded its family of Torch shoes, with the launch of two new pairs: Torch 2.0 and Torch 3.0. These models are more affordable versions of the main product in this series: the S-Works Torch.
The Torch 2.0 and 3.0 shoes use many of the same technologies as the S-Works Torch. These similarities are particularly evident in the shoe’s shape, which was developed through so-called Body Geometry.
This means that based on more than 100,000 foot scans, the shape of the shoe was determined. Thus, the front part is a little wider than its predecessors, and the sole and insole were designed in a way to minimize the likelihood of injuries.
Sneakers equipped with carbon soles
Both the Torch 2.0 and Torch 3.0 are equipped with a carbon sole, with rubber tips to make walking in the shoes easier. A seamless upper provides a comfortable, optimal fit to the foot.
Difference between the two models
The main difference between the two models is that the Torch 2.0 has only one BOA adjustable lock, complemented by a velcro strap, while the Torch 3.0 has two BOA adjustable locks.
Weight and Price of Specialized Torch shoes
The Torch 2.0 weighs 268 grams per shoe (size 42) and is available for a price of 200 euros per pair (around R$1,200.00). The Torch 3.0 weighs 288 grams per shoe (size 42) and is priced at 250 euros per pair (around R$1,400.00).
