RCS, the company that organizes the Giro d’Italia, announced which teams will receive a wild card for the 2024 Giro d’Italia. Israel-Premier Tech and Lotto Dstny received an automatic invitation, but the latter team decided not to participate. Therefore, three vacancies remain, which will be filled by the following teams: VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè, Polti-Kometa and Tudor Pro Cycling.
Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè and Polti-Kometa are constant presences
VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè and Polti-Kometa (successor of EOLO-Kometa) are permanent presences at the Giro d’Italia. Polti-Kometa was present for the first time in 2021 when the team took the step up to ProContinental level and has participated in every year since. The traditional Grupo VF-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè team has received an invitation from the Giro organization for decades.
Tudor Pro Cycling debuts at the Giro d’Italia
The big news in this edition of the Giro d’Italia is Tudor Pro Cycling. The Swiss team, which belongs to former professional cycling icon Fabian Cancellara, has been in the professional peloton since last year and he reveals his pride.
“This is a very proud moment for me and the entire team. I have great memories of my participation in the race, although I never managed to win.”
“I can’t wait to see Tudor play an active role in this race and would like to thank RCS for their trust.”
