In Hulst, the three giants of the world of Cyclocross were once again together at the start. Unfortunately, Tom Pidcock fell in the first corner, ending up in the last position. The British former world champion had to continue on foot, supported by the many fans in attendance.
Wout van Aert also fell in the first lap but managed to continue his way. Mathieu van der Poel completed the first lap unscathed. Laurens Sweeck led the front group.

In the third lap, history repeats itself, and Van der Poel attacks. The world champion slowly pulled away from his competitors, going on a solo flight to secure the victory once again without any challengers.
Joris Nieuwenhuis crossed the finish line in second place, 12 seconds later. Lars van der Haar finished third. Wout van Aert ended up in fifth place after a strong comeback race.
