Wout van Aert debuted in the Cyclocross season with a categorical victory. The three-time world champion was the best at the challenging Exact Cross Essen held in Belgium, with a devastating attack in the middle of the race. Van Aert ended up ahead of Jens Adams and Thijs Aerts, in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Complicated start
The beginning of the race proved to be relatively challenging for the Belgian cyclist, who visibly faced some difficulties on the technical and muddy course that the cyclists encountered. He soon became part of a small group that formed in the early laps of the race, with everything visibly under control.

In the 4th lap, he launched his attack and was not followed. The front group split until the end, with Jens Adams and Thijs Aerts continuing to race towards the front, and the race continued in this manner until the finish. The Belgian quickly returned to victories and will now train with Jumbo-Visma before returning to competitions at the end of December.
