Wout van Aert won the Superprestige Heusden-Zolder, proving that, in the absence of the phenomenon Mathieu Van der Poel, the Belgian is the man to beat.
After some tight initial laps, in the middle of the race, it was Wout van Aert and Eli Iserbyt who controlled the front of the race and distanced themselves from their rivals.
Entering the final lap, the Belgian duo stayed together at the front. Despite Iserbyt’s efforts during the last lap, it was van Aert who crossed the finish line with his arms raised in celebration. Dutch rider Joris Nieuwenhuis completed the podium in 3rd place.
