Swiss cyclist Colin Stüssi, riding for Vorarlberg, clinched the 84th edition of the Volta a Portugal em Bicicleta, maintaining his lead in the tenth and final stage, an individual time trial spanning 18.2 kilometers, commencing in Viana do Castelo and culminating at the Santuário de Santa Lucía in the city.
Colin Stüssi solidified his position at the pinnacle of the Portuguese tour with a commendable third place finish in the time trial. The second and third podium spots were secured by Basque rider Txomin Juaristi (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Portuguese cyclist Antonio Carvalho (ABTF Betão-Feirense), respectively.
The arduous time trial victory was captured by Txomin Juaristi, who clocked in at 24 minutes and 56 seconds, a mere 3 seconds ahead of Uruguayan contender Mauricio Moreira (Glassdrive-Q8), and Colin Stüssi, trailing by 26 seconds.
Colin Stüssi succeeded Uruguayan Mauricio Moreira, the victor of the previous edition, as the new champion of the Volta a Portugal.
