“I’m really excited! This race marks just the beginning of my professional career and I am already among the first. I overcame the challenges on the bike and achieving a prominent place is one of the greatest achievements since I entered this sport”, declared the current Tour de l’Avenir Champion, in a post-race interview with the French website Cyclism’Actu.
Escape with the idols
I didn’t even realize the moment that the escape would be successful. All I did was try to value the race and make the relays stronger. I don’t know how all this happened, nor how the platoon didn’t catch up to us.” “It was difficult for me. I just tried to do my best. I knew the cyclists who accompanied me on the escape, but I knew them as fans, not as friends or colleagues. I loved!”
