The travel organization Vacansoleil, which has been a long-time sponsor of cycling, has been declared bankrupt. The bankruptcy was confirmed by the organizer of the bankruptcy process on Thursday. The consequences for Jumbo-Visma and others are still uncertain.
Vacansoleil is still involved in cycling as a sponsor of Jumbo-Visma, with the company’s logo appearing on the side of the team’s women’s uniforms.
In the past, Vacansoleil was the main sponsor of a Dutch cycling team for many years, with riders like Johnny Hoogerland and Wout Poels competing for them. From 2009 to 2010, the team was named Vacansoleil, and from 2011 to 2013, it was known as Vacansoleil-DCM.
