Stage 7 in Britain finally favored the climbers. The toughest obstacle on the 170-kilometer route to Gloucester was about 25 kilometers from the finish, at Crawley Hill (1.7 kilometers at 8.1%).
After several attacks, Wout Van Aert pulled away from the peloton in the final kilometers, seemingly on his way to a stage victory. However, Uno-X managed to create a gap in the peloton, resulting in Van Aert being caught in the final 400 meters. Rasmus Tiller (UNO X) seized the opportunity and won the stage, ahead of Danny van Poppel (BORA Hansgrohe).
Despite the defeat in the final sprint, Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) remains the overall leader, 3 seconds ahead of Danny van Poppel (BORA Hansgrohe).
