Tobias Halland Johannessen (UNO-X Pro Cycling Team) won the final stage of the Tour de Luxembourg. On the last climb of the day, he launched an attack and was not caught by the peloton. Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) ended up winning the overall classification of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg by crossing the finish line with the peloton, 8 seconds behind the stage winner.
The final stage of the Tour de Luxembourg went from Mersch to the city of Luxembourg. The 177.2 km stage was not the most challenging of the competition, but the final circuit, which was covered three times, was certainly not easy. Especially the penultimate kilometer proved to be very tough. It was on this climb where Johannssen launched his attack, securing his stage victory.
Eight seconds later, Alex Aranburu won the sprint for second place, ahead of Franck Bonnamour. Just behind this group, the fragmented peloton also arrived. Hirschi finished behind his teammate McNulty and ahead of Healy. The Swiss rider thus claimed the overall victory.
