Pedersen starts race as favorite
The talented Mads Pedersen took the early lead in the Tour de la Provence thanks to a prologue victory in Marseille. Before the day’s action began, Mads Pedersen was the favorite for overall victory in the French 2.1 UCI stage race and his performance in the prologue confirmed expectations.
The Danish Lidl-Trek star crushed it, completing the route in 5min 20sec. Jakob Söderqvist (Lidl-Trek) came in 2nd place, clocking 5min 26sec, and Samuel Watson (Groupama FDJ) completed the podium, clocking 5min 30sec.
