Tour de France 2019 standings: results (general classification)

The 2019 Tour de France was the 106th edition of the prestigious cycling race. It started on July 6, 2019, in Brussels, as a tribute to the fiftieth anniversary of Eddy Merckx’s first Tour de France victory, and concluded on July 28 in Paris, culminating on the iconic Champs-Élysées avenue.

Colombian cyclist Egan Bernal of Team Ineos made history as the first Colombian and Latin American rider to win the Tour de France. He claimed the yellow jersey two days before the Champs-Élysées finish, seizing it from Julian Alaphilippe during the 19th stage, which was shortened due to adverse weather. Bernal became the youngest Tour de France winner since 1909.

Other notable achievements include Peter Sagan‘s seventh points classification win, Romain Bardet‘s victory in the King of the Mountains classification, and Movistar’s triumph in the team classification. Besides that, Thibaut Pinot withdrew in the 19th stage, impacting the overall race dynamics.
