Tom Pidcock will complete his Cyclocross season in Benidorm, Spain, this Sunday and then shift his focus to the road. The Briton will open his season on February 14th at the Volta ao Algarve, where he will meet Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel, among others.
No Tour of Flanders for the British
Tom Pidcock will not take part in the Tour of Flanders this spring. The leader of INEOS Grenadiers will participate in the Itzulia Basque Country (Tour of the Basque Country), which starts one day after the “Ronde van Vlaanderen” (01.04).
After the Tour of the Basque Country, Pidcock will compete in a trio of classics that include the Amstel Gold Race, the Flèche Wallonne and the Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He should also race at Brabantse Pijl.
Pidcock reveals he will not leave the Tour de France early
The Tour de France is one of the main goals in the summer. He is aiming for a good final classification and wants to combine it with the Paris Olympic Games, which are scheduled shortly after the Tour. Pidcock confirmed that he will not leave the Tour de France early to dedicate himself to the Paris Games.
At the Olympic Games, Pidcock will defend his Mountain Bike title, but he also wants to compete in the road race in Paris.
