Thymen Arensman (INEOS) reveals recovery after a serious accident and expresses gratitude: “Happy New Teeth Day”

Thymen Arensman has spoken out again after his serious crash at the Vuelta a España. The Dutch rider from INEOS Grenadiers now has all his teeth back. “Happy New Teeth Day. Thanks to the dentist for the quick fix,” he says via Instagram.

Arensman, 23, suffered a heavy fall during the 7th stage of the Vuelta a España, just five kilometers from the finish, and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The cyclist did not suffer any fractures or other serious injuries, but he considers himself very lucky. “My helmet probably saved my life. I can’t remember anything about what happened. I woke up in the hospital, and I must have been unconscious for a few hours.”

Arensman is pleased with his recovery.

Arensman was allowed to leave the hospital on Saturday morning. “I don’t look my best right now because of the stitches and the damage to my face. I’m also missing a tooth, but I’ll consider it an acquired experience,” Arensman said last Saturday.

The Dutch rider got a new tooth just a few days after the crash. “I’m starting to feel better gradually, but I won’t be cycling for a while. The team is keeping an eye on my full recovery. My main focus is on complete recovery. I’m taking time for that,” Arensman stated.
