The competition season on the roads is almost coming to an end. There are still some sporadic races happening, but most athletes are taking the opportunity to rest and recharge their energy after an exhausting season.
Belgium leads the ranking
Just like the previous year, Belgium will end the season as the top country in world cycling. Thanks to the performances of Remco Evenepoel, Jasper Philipsen, and Wout van Aert, they have accumulated an impressive 22,834.1 points.
Last year, Spain and France occupied the second and third positions, respectively. This year, these places have been taken by Denmark and Slovenia. The Danes accumulated 18,528 points, largely due to the exceptional performance of Jonas Vingegaard, the Tour winner, and sprinter Mads Pedersen. The Slovenians, led by Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic, achieved 15,949.3 points this season.
Portugal is well positioned
Portugal is in the 13th position with 6,274.9 points, mainly due to the strong performances of João Almeida, Rui Costa, Ivo Oliveira, Rui Oliveira, and Nelson Oliveira.
