The INEOS Grenadiers is finally set with its administrative lineup for the 2024 season. The positions left vacant after the departures of Rod Ellingworth, team principal, and Roger Hammond, competition manager, have been filled by members within the team. John Allert has taken on the role of CEO, transitioning from the position of Managing Director, and former cyclist Steve Cummings now serves as Racing Director.
With John Allert, the INEOS Grenadiers has opted for a CEO for the organization. He will be responsible for all day-to-day operations within the cycling team structure.
Allert will be assisted by a new Performance Director, Scott Drawer, as reported by Giro do Ciclismo. Drawer has a history with the former Team Sky in the performance area and has been working as a director in a private school in recent years.
Two former cyclists in the team
On the sports front, two former cyclists have been announced by the INEOS Grenadiers. Steve Cummings will serve as a sports director. The British rider was already a team leader and left a good impression in the Netflix documentary about the Tour de France with his calm leadership style.
In addition to him, the recently retired Imanol Erviti has been appointed as one of the team managers for 2024.
“The team’s focus, purpose, and vision are very clear,” Cummings stated in a brief initial statement. “We are absolutely focused on getting back on the podium. We have impressive experience combined with an interesting mix of young talent in the team. And the team is also world-class,” Cummings concluded.
