Spain reveals team for the European Championship in the Netherlands, already next week

The coach of the Spanish cycling team, Pascual Momparler, has announced the selected riders for the European Championship to be held in Drenthe, the Netherlands, from September 20th to 24th. Iván García Cortina stands out as the main name in a modest selection that features some notable absences.

Here are the riders chosen to compete for medals: Xabier Mikel Azparren, Iván García Cortina, Fernando Barceló, Imanol Erviti, Jon Barrenetxea, Víctor de la Parte, and Jesús Ezquerra.

The road race course starts in Assen and covers 115 km before entering a final circuit of six laps with the ascent of the Col du VAM (400 meters at 10%). In total, it will be almost 200 kilometers on Dutch roads to determine the new European champion. The absence of two Movistar Team riders like Alex Aranburu and Gonzalo Serrano is a surprise.
