Primoz Roglic will receive 6 million Euros in the new team

The rumors about Primož Roglič’s future destination are gaining momentum. The British channel GCN reported that multiple sources have indicated that the Slovenian has already signed a long-term contract that will take him out of the Jumbo-Visma team starting in 2024. This information emerged just before Roglič confirmed, before the start of the Giro dell’Emilia, that he will be leaving the Jumbo-Visma team at the end of 2023.

Tadej Pogačar confirms his departure from Jumbo-Visma.

According to information from a team leader, the Slovenian cyclist is being signed for a three-year period with a salary exceeding 6 million euros per season, including bonuses. This contract would place him in a position close to the highest-paid rider in the world, Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates).

“He received a huge offer, beyond all expectations, probably getting close to Pogačar,” said the team boss to GCN.

With Tadej Pogačar as the highest-paid rider in the world, with an estimated salary of over 6.3 million euros per season, Roglič is certainly in line for an excellent contract, with a team boss indicating that it is believed to be a three-year or longer deal with values around 6 million euros per season.

Both Primož Roglič and his current team have not confirmed which team this would be, but teams like INEOS Grenadiers, BORA-Hansgrohe, Lidl-Trek, Bahrain Victorious, Israel-Premier Tech, and Movistar Team have been mentioned as possible destinations for Roglič.

On social media, photo montages of Roglič wearing the INEOS Grenadiers jersey have already been circulating.

The cyclist’s representative has not yet made a public statement regarding Roglič’s situation, whether he will leave the Jumbo-Visma team, or the transfer fees that could be involved in a potential departure from the Dutch team. However, it is apparent that Jumbo-Visma has already approved the departure of the Slovenian, as seen on the team’s social media.
