The next cycling season still seems to be a long way off; however, cycling teams usually start their preparations with an initial training camp. The newcomer Primoz Roglic had the opportunity to enjoy the ski slopes on the Rettenbachferner in the Ötztal Alps (Austria).
A week before the start of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Sölden, Roglic, Marco Haller, Patrick Gamper, and Alexander Hajek, along with team leaders Bernhard Eisel and Christian Pömer, were participating in ski sessions. They were coached by renowned former alpine skiers Marlies Schild and Benjamin Raich, prominent figures in the skiing world.
Roglic and his colleagues also had the opportunity to receive guidance from talented local skiers Franziska Gritsch and Fabio Gstrein, who secured a spot in the upcoming Sölden World Cup for the first time.
“It was a very fun experience, even though I haven’t skied with short skis for a long time (for the first time since 2013),” said Roglic, who has a notable background as a ski jumper.
