Primoz Roglic had a stellar day at Vuelta a Burgos. The Slovenian from Jumbo-Visma claimed victory in the third stage and now leads the general classification. “I’m really happy with this win,” he told Jumbo-Visma’s website.
“The team did a fantastic job controlling the front group right from the start,” Roglic stated. “I had trained on this road before to prepare myself. But you never know how a Vuelta stage will unfold. It was a hot and tough day, but part of the work was done when I was at the front at the top of Picón Blanco. After that, it was about finishing.”
Roglic is content with his form as he sets his sights on his next major objective: the Vuelta a España. “The preparations are going well. I’m here to dot the i’s and so far, it’s going well. My training schedule is on track, but there are still two challenging days ahead. I hope I can test my legs again.” Jumbo-Visma’s season victory count rises to 48 thanks to Roglic’s triumph. The Slovenian secured his eleventh win of the season.
