Primoz Roglic is not keeping quiet about who will be the leader of Team Jumbo-Visma in the Vuelta a España

Prior to the start of the Vuelta a España, it became evident that the Jumbo-Visma team does not have a clearly designated leader. Both Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard will share the leadership responsibility, with the decision about which rider will become the team’s main focus being left to the course of the competition.

“Every year, the Vuelta has spectacular stages,” Roglic said in a press statement. “They usually contain intense racing right from the start. In this race, riders usually don’t wait until the last week to attack, which makes it more interesting.”

Roglic shows a deep knowledge of the Spanish roads, having won the Vuelta three times. Last year, he fought until the final week before withdrawing. This season, his preparation seems to be in great shape, as evidenced by his recent victory in the Vuelta a Burgos. This triumph marks his fourth win in four stage races this year.

“We have a very strong team. It’s too early to say who will be the absolute leader of the team. The goal is to have a Jumbo-Visma rider on the podium in Madrid,” Roglic adds. “Form and legs will determine who will be the leader at the end of the race,” says the Slovenian, dispelling any doubt about the possibility of Vingegaard, due to his Tour de France victory, being the undisputed leader of the team.
