Primoz Roglic is the highlight at the BORA-hansgrohe Training Camp in Mallorca. Involved in activities with his new colleagues and still adapting to the new team members, the Slovenian cyclist is fully focused on winning the Tour de France.
Focus will be on the Tour de France
“The central focus is participating in the Tour de France. For everything that stands in the way, consider it a bonus or advantage to achieve overwhelming results. However, the most important thing is to stay healthy and happy; the rest will happen naturally”, expressed Roglic during the BORA-hansgrohe media day, as reported by the American website Cyclingnews.
With his usually calm words, the 34-year-old cyclist reveals that he will not focus on the actions of his rivals, in relation to the Tour de France, but rather on doing everything he can to achieve the best possible shape.
Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaar avoided each other before the Tour de France
Last year, Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard notably remained distant from each other throughout the season, with the exception of Paris-Nice, where Pogacar joined late. This year, Pogacar continues to avoid his Tour rivals by following a completely different calendar in the spring.
However, Roglic will face Jonas Vingegaard in the Itzulia Basque Country and Criterium du Dauphiné, as well as competing against Remco Evenepoel in both events and also in Paris-Nice.

“It’s stupid now to think about it. I have to focus on my work, we just have to do what we can. We do not take care of Visma-Lease a Bike. They will do what they want… We should not be afraid or nervous about the result or the outcome. It will be whatever,” she adds. “The main thing is that we do our best every day. With this, we will definitely all leave happy.”
Change of team, not coach
During the interview Roglic answered questions about when he decided to change teams and also the change of his coach to BORA-Hansgrohe.
“It’s difficult to say when I decided to change teams, it had been accumulating for a longer time and in the end it was quite simple for me and the team to part ways,” said Roglic.
“Changes are part of life. For me it is important, not only from the training side. He (Marc Lamberts, Roglic’s coach) brings a lot of knowledge and information about everything, so it makes the transition a little smoother and I feel more at home, because I’ve been working with him since the beginning in 2016.”
