Portuguese Rui Costa is presented by EF Education EasyPost

The rumor was circulating, but now it’s official: Rui Costa will compete for EF Education-EasyPost in 2024. The American team has already confirmed this information in a post.

Rui Costa is 37 years old, but he is far from the end of his successful career. His results in 2023 confirm this, having secured four victories. At the beginning of the season, he won the Trofeo Calvia, the Tour of Valencia, and a stage in the competition. In September, he won the 15th stage of the Vuelta a España. The 2013 world champion also finished fourth in the Strade Bianche and eighth in the Clásica San Sebastián.

Hope for more victories in 2024

Rui Costa continues to have great ambitions for the upcoming season. “I keep growing and learning every year. I love to help others, but learning and improving is also a significant motivation. Last year, I started and ended the season with a victory. I also want to go in that direction in 2024,” says the Portuguese from Póvoa de Varzim.

EF Education-EasyPost CEO Jonathan Vaughters still sees a winner in Costa. “Someone who has been in the WorldTour for so long knows how to finish a race. He has a lot of experience and can take us from near victories to more victories. Additionally, he should become a mentor for the young riders on the team, many of whom will make their debut next year.”
