Nairo Quintana appeals to fans who make negative comments on social media

Nairo Quintana is on the eve of officially starting the 2024 season, in the Colombian national championship, once again representing the Movistar Team, he shared his experiences in an interview with former cyclist Luis Pasamontes, on the program “El corte bueno” on the Spanish website Ciclismo a Background.

Negative comments on social media

In the conversation, Quintana revealed that he had received many negative comments from some users on social media. He appealed to these people to redirect their energies towards supporting cyclists they admire, rather than using social media as a means of insulting those they do not support.

“For some of them I respond, instead of trying to bother them, if you have someone else, or are a little bit more of a follower of someone else, support them and write good things for them, instead of writing bad things for someone else.”

“We are human beings and so many words can cause great harm in difficult times. People are not aware of the damage they can cause. There are many people who are bullied and commit suicide,” says Quintana.

Interviewer Luis Pasamontes, after Quintana’s comment, completely agrees with Nairo Quintana on this matter.

“Well, 100% with Nairo. These people are poorly educated and unscrupulous, who do not know the harm they can cause to vulnerable people. So ignorant and empty that they spend more time insulting than cheering.”
