Movistar Team has taken a significant step in its restructuring and preparation for the upcoming season by securing the services of Carlos Canal. The young Galician cyclist, born in 2001, is one of the most exciting prospects in Spanish cycling and will join Movistar Team for the next two seasons.
Carlos Canal, known for his ability to compete on different types of terrain, will make his WorldTour debut with the Spanish team.
Strong 2023 season
Carlos Canal arrives at Movistar Team after an excellent finish to the 2023 season. His recent achievements include an impressive 11th place at the U23 World Championship in Glasgow, as well as excellent performances in the Vueltas a Castilla y León and Vuelta a Burgos. He also came close to victory in the Tour de Langkawi, securing third and fourth places in two stages.
The young Galician cyclist expressed his enthusiasm about joining Movistar Team, a renowned team in Spain and internationally.

Despite the fall in Malaysia at the end of the 2023 season, Canal is satisfied with his performance and confident in his growth as a cyclist. In his words: “By 2024, I hope to take another step in quality and show everything I can achieve on the road.”
