Enric Mas Takes the Helm of Movistar Team Leadership in the Battle for Vuelta a España, scheduled from August 26th to September 17th. The 28-year-old Spanish cyclist makes his comeback following a hiatus caused by a significant crash during the Tour de France. Mas is bolstered by the support of teammates including Oier Lazkano, Nelson Oliveira, and Einer Rubio, among others.
Oier Lazkano is the man in form. He was crowned the Spanish road champion in June and has continued to shine since then. Despite a fall in the final kilometer, he secured fourth place in Prueba Villafranca – Ordiziako Klasika and claimed a stage victory in Vuelta a Burgos.
Einer Rubio, another formidable support for Mas, triumphed in a stage of this year’s Giro d’Italia. In addition to the mentioned names, Movistar’s roster also boasts Ruben Guerreiro, Carlos Verona, Iván García Cortina, Nelson Oliveira, and Jorge Arcas.
