The Movistar team continues to make changes to its structure. The telephone team has confirmed the departure of Patxi Vila, who served as the performance manager for the team over the past four years, as reported by the Spanish newspaper Marca.
Vila joined Movistar from BORA at the end of 2019. Under his direction, efforts were made to modernize the team and attempt to change the team’s philosophy, which was heavily focused on Grand Tours.

On Wednesday, it was officially confirmed by the German team that Patxi Vila is returning, and there is also a change in the role of Shane Archbold, who is retiring from his professional cycling career and taking on a new role as a sports director.
