Meeting between Soudal-Quick-Step cyclists canceled

The team meeting planned by Soudal Quick-Step for next week has been canceled. Three independent sources from Soudal Quick-Step confirm this to the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

The idea was for all the cyclists under contract with Soudal Quick-Step in 2024 to gather in Turnhout, two days after Il Lombardia, for a traditional three-day event from October 9th to 11th. This includes leader Remco Evenepoel and newcomer Mikel Landa.

During these team days, various activities usually take place, such as clothing size measurements, some bike testing, discussions about the competition program, and activities to promote team spirit.

This won’t happen this year, at least for now. The exact reason for this cancellation is not known, although there appears to be a direct link to the imminent merger between Soudal Quick-Step and Jumbo-Visma.
