Lidl-Trek Makes Another Signing from the Mighty UAE Team Emirates

Ryan Gibbons will be donning the Lidl-Trek colors from the upcoming year. With a two-year contract, the South African cyclist will have the opportunity to compete and carve out his own chances within the American team. Furthermore, he will also play a crucial role as a lead rider.

“I’ve always liked Lidl-Trek and had genuine interest in the team,” Gibbons states on his future employer’s website. “It feels professional here, yet personal too. The atmosphere among riders, staff, and management also seems positive. They’ve proven to be one of the most successful teams in the peloton in recent years, and their ambition appeals to me.”

Luca Guercilena is pleased to welcome Ryan Gibbons to the team. “Ryan is a quality rider we’ve brought on board to make our leadership even stronger than it already is,” Guercilena stated. “His versatility is a big asset for us: he can climb well and, therefore, contribute to the finals of challenging races.”
