Jonathan Milan will participate in the spring classics in 2024. The 23-year-old Italian, part of Lidl-Trek’s classic team, will kick off his cycling season in Spain, competing in the Volta a Valência.
After the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana (January 31 to February 4), Milan will mainly focus on cobblestone classics, as stated by Lidl-Trek in a press release: “an extensive cobblestone campaign, starting with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.”
Milan has competed in several cobblestone classics in recent seasons but has yet to secure a victory.
The Flemish classic Omloop Het Nieuwsblad will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Milan will compete in the spring alongside, among others, Mads Pedersen.
Giro d’Italia After an extensive spring campaign, Milan will be focused on his first major challenge: the Giro d’Italia. The Italian is likely to be the team’s main sprinter. Milan was one of the top sprinters in the 2023 Giro, riding for Bahrain Victorious. He won the first sprint showdown in San Salvo, finished second four times, and claimed the purple jersey at the end of the stage.
