The 2023 season was full of exciting moments in the world of cycling. From Mathieu van der Poel’s outstanding performance to the triumphs of Primoz Roglic and Mark Cavendish in the Giro d’Italia, among other notable moments. However, according to Lance Armstrong, the main event of the year was Sepp Kuss’s remarkable victory in the Vuelta a España.
What Sepp Kuss did was insane.
“The best story of the year was Sepp Kuss. For him to be that guy, that extraordinary teammate throughout his career, then have this long season and show up at the Vuelta a España and win.”
“There are very few people who try to do three Grand Tours in one season; it was madness,” said Armstrong in a recent episode of his podcast ‘The Move.’

The American participated in his third Grand Tour of the season and, in an early breakaway, secured the red jersey. He played a key role in the team’s victory in the other two Grand Tours of the year.
But in Spain, he resisted even the attack from his teammate Primoz Roglic to secure the victory after the mythical stage of Alto de l’Angliru.
