Juan Ayuso will be part of a strong UAE Team Emirates in the upcoming Tour de France. However, in 2024, the 21-year-old Spanish cyclist will participate in several other races, as revealed during the team’s press conference on Monday, where he shared details of his program for the next year.
Start on February 12
Ayuso will kick off his season on February 12, according to the Spanish website Ciclo21, with the Clásica Jaén Paraiso Interior in Spain. He will then spend some time in his home country for the Ruta del Sol (February 14 to 18) before heading to Italy. There, he will take part in the Strade Bianche (March 2) and the Tirreno-Adriatico (March 4 to 10).
The rest of his spring schedule is still unclear. His activities in the months of May and June also remain a question mark. The next confirmed race on his program will undoubtedly be the Tour de France (June 29 to July 21).
After Ayuso makes his debut at the Tour de France, he plans to participate in the Olympic Games. Shortly after, the Catalan from Barcelona is set to travel to Canada for the Grand Prix Cycliste Québec (September 13) and the Grand Prix Cycliste Montreal (September 15).
A third consecutive participation in the Vuelta a España seems unlikely as this competition will end on September 8. Ayuso also hopes to travel to Zurich, where he would like to represent Spain in the UCI Road World Championships, taking place from September 22 to 29.
