The Danish cyclist from Visma-Lease a Bike returns this year to do his first race of the season, in Spain, in the 4-stage race, The Gran Camino, which he won in 2023 and this year will take place from February 22nd to 25th.
Racing has been gaining prominence in the professional scene
The 4-day race through Galicia, Spain, known as The Gran Camino, with a UCI 2.1 classification, has become one of the main early season preparation races for climbers. This year, the competition attracted even more attention, with 7 WorldTour teams taking part, an increase from the previous year’s 4 teams.
The third edition of the event is scheduled to take place from February 22nd to 25th, and the list of participants promises notable names. Among the expected cyclists are Jonas Vingegaard, Cian Uijtdebroeks (Visma-Lease a Bike), David Gaudu, Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ) and Egan Bernal (INEOS Grenadiers).
The route for the 2024 edition has been revealed and will follow a classic format. The race will have a Time Trial marking the beginning of this edition. Cyclists will then face three challenging stages designed to test climbers’ skills.
