Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España in 2024
The UAE Team Emirates cyclist will not participate in defending his title at the Santos Tour Down Under in January, as revealed in an interview with Cyclingnews. Additionally, during the same conversation, the cyclist announced his participation in two more Grand Tours in 2024: the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.
Vine mentioned that the route of the Santos Tour Down Under also influenced his decision. There are only two stages where he could make a difference. “You have Willunga and Lofty, but Lofty is much easier this year. I would have to be in very good shape in January to be able to force something there.”
“Also, I couldn’t enjoy the Giro d’Italia last year; I went straight there after an injury. Now, I want to race in Europe in advance, so we decided that it’s not possible (to race in Australia).”
