It was expected for some time, and now it’s official: Niccolò Bonifazio will be competing for the Corratec-Selle Italia team in 2024. The 29-year-old cyclist is making the transition from Intermarché-Circus-Wanty and will be the main sprinter for his new team.
The fast-paced Bonifazio is only in his first season with the Belgian team, having previously ridden for TotalEnergies and Bahrain Merida, among others. The Italian won the second stage of the Giro di Sicilia this year and achieved several podium finishes in the Giro d’Italia. He already has 21 victories in his career. Bonifazio also won a stage of Paris-Nice.
By recruiting Bonifazio, the Corratec-Selle Italia team has a new ace for sprints. The current lineup primarily includes Attilio Viviani, the younger brother of Elia Viviani, and Nicolas Dalla Valle for sprints.
“I am very happy with this step. The motivation is there, and I want to start the next year well,” said the new signing to Team Corratec-Selle Italia in a press release. “I want to repay the team management’s trust. I believe that with good planning, we can achieve good results. I look forward to showcasing my qualities.”
