Intermarché-Circus-Wanty announces a name change following the departure of one of its main sponsors

In 2024, the Belgian team will no longer be known as Intermarché-Circus-Wanty. Circus will cease to be a sponsor due to gambling laws in Belgium. However, the team will continue its participation, now under the name Intermarché-Wanty, retaining athletes like Biniam Girmay and Mike Teunissen.

Statement from Intermarché

“Intermarché is proud to extend its collaboration with the Intermarché-Wanty cycling team for 2024. Cycling is one of the most popular sports in France and Belgium,” says the company’s sponsorship manager, Stéphane Pouget.

“A cycling team is also, like our companies, a collective, with individuals performing at their best when working together. We are looking forward to numerous victories in the prestigious and legendary races of the WorldTour.”

The team’s CEO reveals not many changes in the team

Although the name may have changed, not many other changes will be noticed next year. “We are pleased to announce the extension of our partnership with the Intermarché network as the title partner of our WorldTour team Intermarché-Wanty,” says Jean-François Bourlart, the team’s CEO.
